The project was part of a complete rebuild after the 500-year-old home was destroyed by fire. The new kitchen space was planned with a 15m long, open-plan, living space, allowing for a modern take on a traditional farmhouse kitchen. The team decided to fit bespoke Shaker-style cabinetry, hand-painted in Little Greene's fantastically named 'Jewel Beetle' green paint. The clients were nervous about using such a bold colour for the cabinetry, but are now delighted about how bright and uplifting the finished kitchen feels.

The Cotswolds is the largest designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ in England. Situated along a range of rolling hills, the area has a distinctive rural charm. It’s in this quiet corner of England that Hush Kitchens (working alongside a team of architects and interior designers) were appointed to create a country kitchen in a 17th century farmhouse.
The clients were nervous about using such a bold colour for the cabinetry, but are now delighted about how bright and uplifting the finished kitchen feels.
Recognising that a Butler sink was an essential design feature in a farmhouse kitchen, the team opted for the classic and extremely practical Shaws Double Bowl sink, a Butler sink with a dividing wall in the centre. Beautifully adorned with the Ionian Mixer Tap in a traditional aged brass finish by Perrin & Rowe, the brassware perfectly complements the hardware on the cabinetry and plays an essential role in creating the farmhouse feel.
Modern and practical features like the Parthian Mini Hot Tap, also by Perrin & Rowe, hide advanced features in a traditional body. Once you have steaming hot water available for teas, coffees and cooking, you’ll never want to use a kettle again!
One of the unique design features of this well-crafted kitchen is the copper worktop, with a second, integrated sink, that adds warmth to the island unit. Just like the fireclay Belfast sink, copper is naturally antimicrobial and is seamlessly welded in place, ensuring there are no gaps where bacteria can linger. This second sink also features brassware by Perrin & Rowe; the Mayan Deck-Mounted Taps in aged brass create a distinctive focal point in the room.
