Why a pot filler is a good idea for the kitchen

A must-have accessory for luxury kitchens, pot fillers are now becoming increasingly sought after in UK homes.

Popular stateside, pot fillers are an ultra-convenient way to access water for cooking. Installed on the wall above the hob or cooker, the purpose of a pot filler is to provide a quick and easy solution thanks to their fully extended reach that allows you to fill pots, pans and stovetop kettles with ease. After use, they can be folded flat against the wall making them a great space-saver.

With a choice of lever handles for easy operation or cross top handles for a more classic feel, our Traditional pot filler {above} is ideal for country and shaker kitchens, while our newly launched sleek and stylish Armstrong pot filler {below} is perfect for industrial and modern schemes. Designed to complement our kitchen tap collection, Perrin & Rowe pot fillers are available in eight finishes to suit your cabinetry, worksurfaces and splashbacks. Take your pick from our living finishes Aged Brass, Satin Brass and Polished Brass, which will take on a unique patina over time, or Pewter, Nickel, Chrome, Gold and English Bronze. As with all our brassware, Perrin & Rowe pot fillers offer the same high quality handcrafted finish and are made from low-lead brass, which is thickly plated for durability and longevity. Read on to discover why a pot filler is a good idea for your kitchen.

Pot fillers are great for safety. Families with young children and mutigenerational homes will appreciate the fact that the tap prevents you from having to walk across the kitchen carrying a heavy pot from the sink to hob. There’s less chance of any spillage and little ones won’t be at risk of getting under your feet. In the below image, Katie and Stuart have opted for the Traditional pot filler in aged brass above their cooker as well as an aged brass Phoenician mixer, rinse and soap dispenser on the central island. Having all fixtures in the same finish ties all areas of the kitchen together beautifully.

Thanks to its extendable arm, our Traditional pot filler is easy and convenient to use. It also saves time, allows you to multitask when cooking and may even inspire you to be more adventurous with your mealtimes (although we can’t promise anything!). Use to fill pots and pans with water for pasta, rice or vegetables as well as soaking pots prior to cleaning. Pictured below, Andrea of @thehouseonthegreen has opted for a Traditional pot filler along with the always popular Ionian sink mixer and Parthian mini Instant Hot tap, all in satin brass.

As well as the kitchen, pot fillers can also be installed in utility rooms and outbuildings. We even have customers who use pot fillers for flower prep and flower arranging! Whichever design and finish you choose, our pot fillers are convenient, easy to use and look fabulous in the kitchen as perfectly showcased in this Charlie Kingham country-chic design featuring our aged brass pot filler with crosstop handles.
