Another beautiful retreat from our New Zealand archive is The Lodge at Paratiho Farms in Nelson. ‘Paratiho’ is the modern Maori word for paradise and, cradled between ocean and snow-capped mountains, golden beaches and crystal clear rivers, it is clear how this stunning resort earned its name.
Opened in 1999, The Lodge is stylish, informal and filled with modern art and sculpture. Symbolic of sumptuous comfort and elegance, the Lodge can accommodate a maximum of just 18 guests at any one time.
Three separate cottages contain six extra special suites with bathrooms that feature, apart from the elegant Perrin & Rowe brassware, their own private gardens. Freestanding, claw-foot and roll-top baths have been kitted out with Perrin & Rowe mixer taps with hand showers and separate showering areas feature concealed, dual-control thermostatic showers with porcelain handles.
