Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur, India

A vision in white marble, emerging from the centre of Lake Pichola on its own 4 acre island in Udaipur, the 5 star Taj Lake Palace was originally built under the direction of a former Maharaja. Constructed to face east to allow inhabitants to pray to the Hindu sun god at the crack of dawn, the palace became a summer resort for rulers over the following years. Today, the hotel is considered to be one of the most romantic hotels in the world and has featured in many films and television programmes, including James Bond’s Octopussy where it was the secluded lair of the eponymous Bond Girl. With breathtaking views of the neighbouring palaces and hills, the 66 rooms and 17 suites of the palace were restored to their pristine glory with ornate and intricate arches, paintings, crystal and stained glass.

The Taj Lake Palace chose to uphold its heritage by selecting Perrin & Rowe Country basin mixers, bath fillers and shower sets.
